Traveling with kids is a whole new level of anxiety. SO MUCH STUFF!! But it all seems necessary, right? “What do I need to pack?” Is the most common question I get asked when we have guests or friends who are planning their trip to sunny Southern  California. So, this is what I would bring – and it would work whether your vacation lasted a week or a month.

Tops

tank top, comfy tee, light tunic, hooded wrap

Bottoms

jeans, joggers, shorts (if joggers aren’t your thing, you can always swap for a wide-leg pant)

For more shorts options check out the blog post – Not Your Mom’s Shorts – My Search for the Best Mom Shorts

Dresses

maxi dress

Shoes

flip-flops, sneakers

Bags

large tote bag, cross body

Accessories

sunglasses, hat, bathing suit

For more bathing suit options check out the 2017 Swimsuit Guide for Moms

NOT PICTURED, but don’t forget:

no-show socks, underwear, pajamas, work-out clothes (if you like that sort of thing), jewelry, camera, phone charger, and toiletries.

Packing for Cali is quite simple because of it’s laid back vibe and temperate climate.  The seasons don’t really matter here, but it’s always good to pack layering pieces that all work together.  That’s why I choose these items. Plus, they all can be dressed up or down, depending on what your plans are. Any of the tops will work with any of the bottoms. The joggers are comfortable for travel days or use them with the white tunic and some fabulous jewelry for a night out. Take that same tunic and wear it as a bathing suit cover-up for the beach or pool. The maxi dress can be used for dinner plans or a casual shopping day. The large tote is great for beach and travel days. The cross body is good for everyday and sightseeing.  The hooded wrap is just incase you get cold at night, but it also looks cute with everything else.  You get the idea. So many possibilities.
